Episode 79: “The Storm Breaks, Part 2”
Gregory Henry was kneeling on the dueling arena, his whole body shaking. Why? Just a few seconds ago, he had sacrificed the souls of his friends to the Pot of Souls card in order to draw 15 cards.
Hell Kaiser stared at him. “Well? Are you gonna duel or not?”
Greg stared at the floor. How can I continue? After what I just did? I’ve just sacrificed my friends…in order to get a slim chance to beat Hell Kaiser! That’s exactly what Violet and everyone was afraid of! I can’t…
Suddenly, Greg heard a chuckle…a vaguely familiar one…
And here I thought you were the all-powerful good guy.
Greg raised his head. Standing in front of him was a boy who looked exactly like him…except for glowing red eyes…
Then it clicked.
Yang, you no good little…Greg thought angrily. What the hell are you doing in my head?!
Yang chuckled. Don’t you remember? I, like the Supreme King is to Jaden, am your dark side. I have the special power needed to defeat Hell Kaiser.
Why should I trust you? Greg asked.
You can’t. You just have to control me.
Greg looked at Yang for a second…then nodded.
Yang grinned…then Greg’s vision blacked out.

Hell Kaiser watched as Greg’s figure got to his feet. “Finally, you’re showing some backbone”
Greg grinned…then looked up. Hell Kaiser stepped back in shock: Greg’s eyes were different. Instead of being its normal tri-color, they now glowed blood-red.
Yang-Greg grinned. “C’mon Hell Kaiser, don’t you recognize me?’
Hell Kaiser narrowed his eyes. “You have Greg’s body, but still, you’re not him…who are you?”
Yang-Greg’s grin grew wider. “I’m his dark side. Unlike you, I’m no parasite. We duel together!”
Hell Kaiser narrowed his eyes. “Then why don’t you bring it?”
Yang-Greg nodded and looked at his hand: Stratos, Avian, Burstinatrix, Polymerization, Ocean, Woodsman, Lady Heat, Draining Shield, Polymerization, Damage Negation, Negate Attack, Hero Barrier, Hero Signal, and Fusion Recovery x2. “I’ll start things off by Summoning Elemental Hero Stratos to the field in ATK mode! (1800 ATK)” In a flash of light, the hero with light blue armor, a light blue helmet plus a visor, and metallic wings appeared. “And thanks to his ability, I can add another Stratos to my hand! Next, I activate Polymerization! I fuse Avian and Burstinatrix together to form Elemental Hero Flame Wingman! (2100 ATK)” The monster that emerged from the vortex had a black, red, and green body, a black head with red eyes, a red dragon head arm, a green claw arm, and one white wing coming out of his back.
Yang-Greg narrowed his eyes. “This is the end Hell Kaiser! Stratos, attack Cyberdark Dragon!”
Stratos leapt into the air and activated his wing’s propellers. The wind gusts that emanated from them tore the metal dragon to shreds, triggering the bands, causing Hell Kaiser to roar in pain.
Greg – 600 Hell Kaiser – 600
Yang-Greg pointed to the now defenseless Hell Kaiser. “FLAME WINGMAN, DIRECT ATTACK!”
The monster leapt into the air and aimed his dragon head arm.
“FLAME SHOT!”
The dragon’s maw opened and a torrent of flame shot out and collided into Hell Kaiser, causing smoke to conceal him from the eyes of the people around them.
Yang-Greg stared calculatingly at the smoke. Too easy…
The smoke suddenly cleared and Hell Kaiser was revealed, a Trap Card in front of him.
Yang-Greg narrowed his eyes. I know that card…
Hell Kaiser smirked. “Sorry, I activated my Focus Sash. The damage I take from Flame Wingman’s ATK reduces my LP to 100 instead of 0.”
Greg – 600 Hell Kaiser – 100
“I’ll set 5 cards facedown (Hero Barrier, Hero Signal, Negate Attack, Damage Negation, and Draining Shield) and end my turn” Yang-Greg finished.
Hell Kaiser drew his next card. (Pot of Avarice) “I activate Burial from the Different Dimension! This lets me bring back my Cyberdark Horn, Edge, and Keel back into my graveyard. Now I activate Pot of Avarice to shuffle the 5 monsters in my graveyard back into my deck and draw two cards! (Fusion Genocide and Overload Fusion) Next, I summon Proto-Cyber Dragon in DEF mode! (600 DEF)” In a flash, the smaller, darker version of Cyber Dragon appeared curled up in front of Hell Kaiser. “Next, I activate Fusion Genocide! With this card, I can take up to three Fusion Monsters in my Fusion Deck that have “Cyber” in their card names and put them in my graveyard as long as I sacrifice one Cyber Dragon on my side of the field.”
“And Proto-Cyber Dragon counts because of its ability.” Yang-Greg added as the metallic beast vanished in a flash of light.
“Next, I activate Overload Fusion!” Hell Kaiser announced. “I remove the three Cyberdark Dragons in my graveyard from the game to summon Cyberdark End Dragon! (3000 ATK)”
The monster that emerged from the void was the tri-headed version of Cyberdark Dragon, with three pairs of it’s wings. When it rose up behind its master, it unleashed a roar.
Yang-Greg stared up at the beast and clenched his fist. That monster…it defeated Sophia! That beast is responsible for Sophia’s state! I won’t forgive that monster, ever! I WILL TAKE IT DOWN!!
“Since Cyberdark End Dragon was summon successfully via Fusion Summon”, Hell Kaiser explained, for every monster that I own outside the game, I may select one monster for each one and equip it to Cyberdark End Dragon. But I don’t want to give you any more pain…” Hell Kaiser smirked. “I’ll just equip it with Cyber End Dragon, increasing its ATK to 7000 ATK!”
Yang-Greg took a step back. I’m…not…going…to…LOSE!
“CYBERDARK END DRAGON, ATTACK ELEMENTAL HERO STRATOS!” Hell Kaiser roared. “SHADOW STRIDENT BLAZE!”
The triple headed monstrosity opened all three of its mouths and unleashed a gigantic black stream of electricity at Stratos, blasting him apart and causing smoke to roll over his owner…
Only to have it blast away from him.
Hell Kaiser raised an eyebrow.
Yang-Greg stared back with narrowed eyes. “Sorry Hell Kaiser, but not this time. I activated my Damage Negation! This negates all damage I take when you destroy a monster! Also, I activated Hero Signal, which lets me summon another Stratos, and I’ll use its ability to blow up your monster’s equip spell!”
Stratos leapt into the air and activated his propellers, blowing apart the Cyber End Dragon that was connected to the underbelly of Cyberdark End Dragon.
Yang-Greg smirked. “And your dragon has a drawback, doesn’t it? Whenever its on the field without a monster equipped to it, it’s automatically destroyed and you take damage equal to its ATK!”
Hell Kaiser’s monster was surrounded with a purple aura. With an ear-splitting shriek, it imploded, covering Hell Kaiser in smoke.
“I activate the ability of my Cyber Gardna!” Hell Kaiser announced. "By discarding it from my deck, I can negate all effect damage I would take this turn, destroy Stratos, and draw one card! (Negate Attack)”
Suddenly, a ghost image of a metallic humanoid with bulging muscles and a laser eye appeared covering Hell Kaiser, absorbing the purple aura and blasting it back at Stratos, causing him to explode.
Hell Kaiser bowed his head and smirked. “I set one card facedown and end my turn”
Yang-Greg drew his next card. (Elemental Hero Sparkman) “I activate Polymerization! I fuse Flame Wingman and Sparkman together to create ELEMENTAL HERO SHINING FLARE WINGMAN! (2500 ATK)" As he punched the air, the Hero appeared behind Yang-Greg. It was covered him silver armor, it had silver wings coming out of his back, and his green head was covered by a silver helmet.
“Also, my Wingman has an ability: for every Hero in my grave, it gains 300 ATK, meaning it has 4300 ATK!”
Yang-Greg closed his eyes and smirked. “Good-bye, Hell Kaiser. ELEMENTAL HERO SHINING FLARE WINGMAN, DIRECT ATTACK!”
The Hero leapt into the air and gathered a ball of shining green energy between his hands.
“SHINING SHOT!”
Shining Flare Wingman unleashed his energy at Hell Kaiser…only to have it blown back at him, causing him to explode.
“WHAT?!” Yang-Greg yelled.
Hell Kaiser smirked. “I activated the secondary ability of Fusion Genocide: by removing it from the game, I can destroy one Fusion monster on the field!”
Yang-Greg snarled. “I end my turn”
Hell Kaiser drew his next card. (Cybernetic Knowledge) “I activate Cybernetic Knowledge! I discard my hand in order to draw four cards. (Limiter Removal, Time Reversal, Cyber Clone, and Power Bond) I now activate Time Reversal! This card lets me reset my side of the field so it matches what I had on it on my previous turn! So that means…”
“Your Cyberdark End Dragon returns!” Yang-Greg gasped.
Hell Kaiser began to laugh hysterically as a vortex of black lighting opened behind him. Slowly, Cyberdark End Dragon—complete with the attached Cyber End Dragon—came out and stood tall behind him.
“Next I activate Cyber Clone!” Hell Kaiser announced. “With this card, I can select one card on the field and produce a copy of it until the end of turn, and I’ll choose Cyber End Dragon!” In a flash, a darker version of the tri-head mechanical beast appeared beside Cyberdark End Dragon. (4000 ATK) “Next, I’ll activate Limiter Removal! This doubles the ATK of all my machines! (Cyberdark End: 7000 à 14000 ATK; Cyber End: 4000 à 8000 ATK) Next, I activate Power Bond!”
“You can’t!” Yang-Greg protested. “You have nothing you can summon!”
Hell Kaiser chuckled evilly. “Yes I do…my ultimate beast.”
Yang-Greg snarled, a bead of sweat rolling down his face.
“I fuse Cyberdark End Dragon and Cyber End Dragon together” He said in a low, carrying voice. In a flash, the two dragons disappeared into the blue vortex behind him. “In order to summon…this”
Slowly, the machine came out of the vortex. It looked almost exactly like Cyber End Dragon, with a few differences: firstly, half the body was black and the other half was white. Secondly, the black half was built like Cyberdark End Dragon while the white half was built like Cyber End Dragon. The middle head was silver and spiky, the one of Hell Kaiser’s left was the one from Cyberdark Dragon, and the one on his right was from Cyber Dragon.
“The Cyber Chaos Dragon” Hell Kaiser whispered.
Yang-Greg stared up at the monstrosity. Holy…crap…
“My dragon has several abilities, you know.” Hell Kaiser continued. “First, the ATK of the monster is the combined ATK of the Fusion Material monsters (8000 + 14000 = 22000 ATK) and that ATK got doubled by Power Bond. (22000 à 44000 ATK) Secondly, when he’s Fusion Summoned, all the Machines I own are removed from the game, and that’s 28. Finally, he gains 1000 ATK for every Machine that’s removed from the game. (44000 + 28000 = 72000 ATK)
Yang-Greg stepped back as the beast in front of him tripled in size and almost took the roof off. Holy crap, if that hits…I could get killed!
Hell Kaiser smirked. “I hope you aren’t scared of the dark, because you’re doomed to it for all eternity! CYBER CHAOS DRAGON, DIRECT ATTACK! INFINITE CHAOS BLAZE!”
The three heads opened their mouths and gathered a white and black ball of lightning between them. It suddenly turned into a solid beam of white lighting and shot at Yang-Greg.
“Go Trap Card!” Yang-Greg announced. “I activate Negate Attack, which will cancel your strike and end your Battle Phase!”
The beam struck the purple shield, causing Yang-Greg’s entire side of the field to shake. Despite the shield, he was thrown off the platform and onto the floor.
Holy…mother…of…freaking…crap. Yang-Greg thought as he climbed back onto the platform. If that had hit me…
Hell Kaiser shrugged. “Your move.”
Yang-Greg drew his next card. (Pot of Avarice) “I activate Pot of Avarice! By shuffling Flame Wingman, Shining Flare Wingman, and Burstinatrix, and both of my Stratoses back into my deck, I can draw two cards! (Elemental Hero Heat and Heroic United Charge) Now, I activate two Fusion Recoveries to add my Avian, Sparkman, and both of my Polymerizations to my hand. Next, I’ll activate Polymerization to fuse Ocean and Woodsman together to form Elemental Hero Terra Firma! (2400 ATK)” The monster that emerged from the vortex was mostly white and muscular. He had two blue orbs on his shoulders and he had a red orb on his chest. “But why stop there? I’ll activate my second Polymerization to fuse Heat and Lady Heat together to form Elemental Hero Inferno! (2300 ATK)” The new hero’s body upper body were red and an emblem of a flame was on its chest surrounding an orb of red and black. The rest of its body was red and white. “Next, I set one card facedown (Heroic United Charge) and end my turn.”
Hell Kaiser drew his next card silently. (Cybernetic Hidden Technology) “Cyber Chaos Dragon, finish this!”
The three heads unleashed their swirling white and black energy once more…
“Trap Card Go!” Yang-Greg shouted. “I activate Heroic United Charge! My two monsters, by sacrificing them, will ram into yours and destroy it and your battle phase ends!”
The two heroes joined hands and flew into the swirling mass of energy coming towards them and fired a blast of blue, green, white, and red energy at the dragon’s maws. When it made contact, an enormous explosion ripped through the arena…
And Hell Kaiser began laughing.
“What’s so funny?” Yang-Greg asked. “You’re wide open!”
“No I’m not!” Hell Kaiser replied. “See for yourself!”
Yang-Greg peered through the smoke and gasped. “No…”
All at once, the smoke cleared, and standing tall was the Cyber Chaos Dragon.
Hell Kaiser smirked. “I activated Cyber Chaos Dragon's ability! By discarding the card in my hand, I can prevent its destruction!”
Yang-Greg snarled. “My Final Heroic Charge has an extra ability: I can draw one card. (Elemental Hero Bubbleman) I now summon Elemental Hero Bubbleman in DEF mode. (1200 DEF)” In a flash, the blue bodied, cape wearing, and wrist bubble blaster wielding hero appeared. “I end my turn”
Hell Kaiser drew his next card. (One for One) “Cyber Chaos Dragon, destroy Bubbleman!”
The tri-headed machine unleashed another torrent at energy…only to have it absorbed by a purple shield shaped like the symbol of the Elemental Heroes.
“Sorry Hell Kaiser, I activated Hero Barrier!” Yang-Greg announced. “Since I had Bubbleman out, I could negate your attack!”
Hell Kaiser smirked. “I now activate One for One! This let’s me destroy one monster on the field, and I’ll choose your last monster!” Suddenly, Bubbleman groaned in pain and imploded, showering its owner with holographic bubbles. “As for the drawback, you can select one card in your deck and set it on the field facedown.”
Yang-Greg opened his deck and flicked through it. Suddenly, he heard a voice in his head saying, That one!
Which one? Yang asked Greg.
Let me do it, was the reply.
Yang nodded and closed his eyes.

Greg let out a breath and opened his eyes. With a determined look in his eyes, he chose a card and slid it into his duel disk.
Hell Kaiser, noticing the change in Greg’s eyes, smirked. “Come to surrender?”
Greg smirked back. “Heck no. I’m going to end this!”
“How?” Hell Kaiser asked skeptically.
“With this!” Greg announced as he drew his next card. (Card of Sanctity) “I activate Card of Sanctity! We each draw six cards!” Looking at the cards he drew, he smirked…and his tri-colored eyes began glowing.
Hell Kaiser took a breath, realizing something big was coming.
“First, I activate Miracle Fusion!” Greg said. “I remove Avian, Sparkman, and Bubbleman from the game to summon Elemental Hero Tempest! (2800 ATK)” The monster that appeared out of the multi-colored vortex had Avian’s head—with a visor—and his wings. He had Sparkman’s body with Bubbleman’s colors. On his left arm had a claw gauntlet and on his right was a futuristic blaster. “Next, I activate the card that’s going to save the world one last time: LEGACY OF HEART!”
As he slammed the card onto the duel disk, dark clouds formed above the duelists. Suddenly, three bolts of lightning—green, orange, and purple—struck Tempest and he exploded. Suddenly the fallen pixels formed three separate figures: Timeaus the green knight, Hermos the orange knight, and Critias the purple knight.
“Since Tempest was sacrificed to summon them, they each have 2800 ATK!” Greg explained.
“So?” Hell Kaiser said. “They’re not even close to my dragon!”
Greg smirked. “I activate the facedown card you gave me: Attack Guidance Barrier! This Trap card lets me send Hermos’ ATK to Timeaus, increasing it to 5600. Then I can send that 5600 to Hermos. Then I rinse and repeat, until their ATKs equal infinity!”
Hell Kaiser took a step back in fear. “No…”
Greg narrowed his eyes. “But I’m not done yet! My three monsters can join forces and become one person! Knights, combine!”
The three knights nodded as one and crossed their blades and suddenly a golden aura appeared over them.
“Form a being of infinite power, hope, and dreams!”
The three knights slowly started to merge together and form a taller being, one submerged in shadows.
“COME FORTH, KNIGHT OF DESTINY!”
The being that had been created was mostly gold, except for some purple, green, and orange spots. In his right he had a golden sword.
Greg smirked. “His ATK is infinite plus Critias’ power!”
Hell Kaiser gasped. “That’s infinite plus 2800!!”
“GAME OVER HELL KAISER!” Greg roared. “KNIGHT OF DESTINY, ATTACK CYBER CHAOS DRAGON! DESTINY SLASH!!”
The huge knight leapt forward, sword raised. In one strike, he decapitated the beast, making it explode, knocking Hell Kaiser off his feet, and assaulting his body with red lightning for one final time.
Greg – 600 Hell Kaiser – 0
“NNNNNOOOOO!!!!” Hell Kaiser roared, struggling to his feet. “I…MUST…NOT…LOSE!!”
Greg stared unflinchingly back. “You just did. Be gone, Hell Kaiser!”
Suddenly, a black smoke-like substance began seeping out of Hell Kaiser. Strangely, upon seeing this, Hell Kaiser smiled. Looking up at Greg, he said his final words.
“You think you’re in the clear? Forget it. There’s more ahead, Gregory Henry. You will eventually fall in defeat. My only regret…is that I won’t be there to see it!”
With a final gasp, Hell Kaiser fell to the ground and formed a small puddle of black liquid. Greg slowly walked towards it and crouched down. He had seen something shiny in there. Picking up, he saw that it was a necklace with an upside-down cross pendant. Suddenly, that too dissolved in his hand.
Greg narrowed his eyes. No…
Suddenly, he felt a hand on his shoulder. Looking up, he smiled. “Vi”
Violet helped him to his feet and kissed him. Breaking away, she smirked. “Congrats, hero kid.”
“Yeah, great show” came a sarcastic voice.
Greg whirled around. “Sophia!” he cried, embracing his cousin. Looking over her shoulder, he noticed all his friends, including the ones in Hell Comas, standing there. “Guys”
Christy grinned. “Thanks bro”
Zane nodded.
Jaden and Johan flashed a thumbs up.
Aster smirked. “Good job"
Joe clapped ecstatically.
Greg broke free of his cousin and grasped Violet’s hand. Looking up at the ceiling he smiled.
Thank you God. Thank you.
