Episode 3: “Miracle Contact”
Tokyro Malia was on his black D-Wheel, speeding down a road in Domino City. In front of him was Lance Princeton, son of Chazz Princeton on his D-Wheel that looked like Armed Dragon LV10.
Tokyro smirked. Doesn’t take a brain surgeon to figure out what deck he uses. He’s probably inherited his father’s Armed Dragon deck.
Tokyro looked at his deck and smiled. Ready, Guys?
Tokyro – 4000 Lance – 4000
“I’ll go first!” he announced, drawing a six card hand. (Graceful Charity, Elemental Hero Necroshade, Mystical Space Typhoon, Instant Neo Space, O – Oversoul, and Sangan) “I’ll activate Graceful Charity to draw three (D.D. Warrior Lady, Last Will, and E-Emergency Call) and discard two (Necroshade and O - Oversoul). Next, I’ll set one monster facedown (Sangan) and end my turn.”
Lance snorted and drew his next card. He looked at his card hand: Frontline Base, X-Head Cannon, Y-Dragon Head, Sakuretsu Armor, Magical Mallet, and Pot of Greed. “I’ll start my turn by activating Frontline Base! With this card, once per turn I’m allowed to Special Summon one Union monster, so I summon Y-Dragon Head! (1500 ATK) “ In a flash of light, a metal red dragon appeared. “Next, I’ll summon Z-Metal Tank in ATK mode! (1500 ATK)” In another flash, the small yellow tank with treads appeared. “I now activate Pot of Greed to draw two cards. (Quick Summon and X-Head Cannon) Now I activate Quick Summon to summon X-Head Cannon! (1800 ATK)” In a third flash the yellow and blue floating robot with cannons on is shoulders appeared.
Tokyro’s eyes widened. “Oh…crap…”
Lance started laughing. “You see it, don’t you!?! Your doom?! Now I remove my three monsters from the game to summon XYZ-DRAGON CANNON!! (2800 ATK)” In a blaze of lightning, the combo monster with the treads of Z, the body of Y, and the upper body that was pretty much all of X appeared.
“Now, by discarding my Magical Mallet” Lance continued, “I can blow up your monster!”
Lance’s XYZ-Dragon Cannon unleashed a stream of light at Tokyro’s facedown card, incinerating it and revealing a brown, three-eyed midget.
Tokyro shielded his face for the light’s glare. “That was my Sangan, and when he’s destroyed, I can take my Flare Scarab from my deck and bring it to my hand!”
Lance snorted in disgust. “Yeah, but that won’t help you now, will it? XYZ, direct attack!”
The mechanical wonder unleashed streams of light energy from every cannon on its body and they hit Tokyro hard, forcing him to decrease his speed radically.
Tokyro – 1200 Lance – 4000
Gritting his teeth, Tokyro drew his next card. (Pot of Greed) “I activate my Pot of Greed to draw to cards. (Neos and Quick Summon) Now I activate the ability of my Necroshade to negate all sacrificial requirements for Heroes this turn and summon Elemental Hero Neos! (2500 ATK)” In a flash of light, the famous silver hero with a red orb in its chest appeared on the field. “Next, I activate Quick Summon! With this card I can Normal Summon once more, so I’ll bring out Neo Spacian Flare Scarab! (500 ATK)” in a flash, the alien bug that looked like a scarab appeared. “Now, go Contact Fusion!”
Tokyro held his hand up to the sky and his two monsters disappeared into the cosmos. Then a pillar of flame appeared next to him and from it appeared a black and orange armored humanoid.
“Behold, Elemental Hero Flare Neos! (2500 ATK)” Tokyro announced.
Lance snorted. “It’s all for nothing! I’ll just go away at the end of turn!”
Tokyro smirked. “No it won’t. I activate Instant Neo Space!” A rainbow aura surrounded Flare Neos. “As long as my Spell is equipped, Flare Neos won’t go away! And also, Flare Neos gains 400 ATK for every Spell and Trap Card on the field. (2500 à 3300 ATK) Now Flare Neos, attack XYZ-Dragon Cannon! Cosmic Flame!”
Flare Neos leapt into the air and unleashed a fireball from his hands, melting the mechanical monster.
Tokyro – 1200 Lance – 3500
Lance drew his next card. (Fusion Revival) “I activate Fusion Revival! By paying half my Life Points…”
Tokyro – 1200 Lance – 1750
“I can Special Summon a Fusion Monster from my graveyard at half strength! So rise once more, XYZ-Dragon Cannon! (1400 ATK)” In a flash, the machine reappeared on the field, its colors slightly dimmer than before. “Now I activate Fusion Revival’s second ability: by removing it from the game, I get to draw two cards! (V-Tiger Jet and W-Wing Catapult) Now I activate the effect of Frontline Base to summon W-Wing Catapult! (1300 ATK)” In a flash of light, the blue airship appeared. “Now I Normal Summon V-Tiger Jet! (1500 ATK)” in another flash, the mechanical flying tiger appeared. “Now go V and W, Union Fusion! Create VW-Tiger Catapult! (2000 ATK)” in a flash, the machine with W’s body and V’s head appeared.
Tokyro paled. “Oh no…”
Lance smirked. “Now my two monsters, fusion together! Form my ultimate beast!”
The two machines disappeared in a swirling vortex. What came out was almost a Gundam: its arms and head came from Z, its body can from X (including the cannons), the legs came from W, and the midsection and the wings came from Y.
Lance began laughing. “behold, VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon! (3000 ATK)”
Tokyro swallowed visibly.
Lance smiled again. :Now I’ll activate his ability and switch your monster to DEF mode!”
The machine fired a white beam from its cannons and shocked Flare Neos into a crouching position. (2000 DEF)
“Now my monster, destroy Flare Neos!” Lance commanded.
V to Z raised its cannons again and fired another blast, this time blowing the hero apart.
Lance smirked. “That ends my turn.”
Tokyro drew next card grimly. (Card of Sanctity.) “I activate Card of Sanctity so we can draw cards until we have 6. (Tokyro: Foolish Burial and Exiled Force; Lance: Mirror Force, Union Formation, Monster Reborn, and D.D. Warrior Lady) Now I summon Exiled Force in ATK mode! (1000 ATK)” in a flash, the legion of grubby soldiers appeared. “Now by sacrificing it, I can blow up your monster!”
The band of troops charged at the machine, and stabbed it, blowing each other up.
“Now I activate Last Will! Since I sent a monster to the grave this turn, I can summon my Flare Scarab! (500 ATK)” In a flash, the humanoid scarab alien appeared. “Next, I activate Foolish Burial to send Neos to the graveyard.”
Lance laughed out loud. “You’ve just destroyed any chance you had of beating me!”
Tokyro grinned. “Not really, because I activate O-Oversoul! Now I can bring back Elemental Hero Neos! (2500 ATK)” In a flash, the silver-bodied hero appeared. “Now, Contact Fusion!” Once again, the two monsters flew into the cosmos and once more Flare Neos crashed down to Earth. (2500 ATK)
Tokyro pointed at his enemy. “Now my monster, end this! Cosmic Fireball!”
Flare Neos gathered a ball of fire between his hands and flung it at Lance, covering him in holographic flames and making him skid to a halt. His bike was smoking and the terminal was flashing “Defeat”
Tokyro – 1200 Lance – 0

Back at the starting line, Toshiro was sitting on his bike, looking at his deck, wainting for his name to be called for his duel.
Suddenly, Jaya walked up to him. “It’s time”
Toshiro put his deck away and looked up at her. “Who?” he asked simply.
Jaya put a hand on his shoulder and pointed.
Following her finger, Toshiro saw Sean, standing there with a smirk on his face, holding a familiar card in his hand.
Toshiro clenched his right fist. He felt Jaya’s grip tighten.
“Toshiro…” Sean said softly.
Toshiro glared back. “It’s time”
