Episode 47: “Dinos vs. Dragons”
It was another beautiful day on Academy Island. The sun was shining, the wind was blowing…
And Greg was being restrained by Rose, Violet, and Sophia.
The members of Team Evolution were standing in their “arena” facing a boy with a yellow blazer and a dinosaur cap. He had sneer on his face. Surrounding the group was three other kids, who were looking on nervously.
“WHY…YOU…LITTLE…” Greg would’ve said more but Sophia clamped her hand over his mouth. With super-human effort, the three girls dragged Greg away from the boy.
After they were a good distance away, Sophia smacked her cousin on the head. “What the heck are you doing?!” she whispered furiously.
Greg was still glaring daggers at the Ra. “No…one....gotta make him pay….”
Helplessly, Sophia looked at Violet and Rose. “What happened?”
Rose smiled weakly. “Tyranno Hassleberry was calling Violet some rude things—”
“RUDE THINGS?!?!?! HE CALLED HER A—” Greg roared until Sophia smacked him again.
Violet coughed. “Anyway…Greg got mad and then…well…” she gestured helplessly at her still-growling boyfriend.
Sophia nodded curtly and stalked back to Tyranno.
A boy in a blue blazer and a boy and a yellow blazer ran next to her.
“What are you going to do?” the blue boy asked.
“What I have to Johan” Sophia replied, talking to Greg’s duel apprentice.
“Don’t do anything rash” the other boy consoled.
“You’re the one to talk Mars” Johan shot back.
Before the two boys got out of hand, Sophia interrupted. “How about you two stand by Greg just in case he does something stupid.” The two boys nodded and ran the other way.
Sophia came to a stop in front of Tyranno. “You have no right to talk to my cousin’s fiancé that way”
“FIANCE?!?!?!” Violet screamed.
Sophia turned and flashed a grin. “Sorry, couldn’t resist”
“Well, that chick over yonder had it coming” Tyranno drawled.
“Yeah, because she didn’t agree to—” Chazz would’ve said more, but Tyranno glared at him.
“How about this, girly?” Tyranno said as he activated his duel disk. “You and me, one on one. You win, and I’ll apologize. I win, and I get you and the girl.”
“FORGET IT DINO BOY!!” Greg yelled as he made another attempt to rip off Tyranno’s head. Thankfully for all present, Johan and Mars restrained him.
“I accept!” Sophia called out and then she activated her disk. “Let’s Duel!”
Sophia – 8000 Tyranno – 8000
The two duelists drew five cards. Sophia had Dragonstorm, Kaibaman, Blue Eyes White Dragon, Negate Attack, and Magic Cylinder. Tyranno got Gilasaurus, Black Tyranno, Amber Web, Ultra Evolution Pill, and Black Ptera. Sophia went first.
“Alright!” Sophia called out. “Let’s get this started!” And with that, she drew her card. (Tyrant Dragon) “I summon Kaibaman to the field. I then sacrifice it to Special Summon Blue Eyes White Dragon! (3000 ATK) I then activate Dragonstorm! I pay 1000 LP to summon another Blue Eyes White Dragon! I end my turn”
Sophia – 7000 Tyranno – 8000
Tyranno smirked. “That’s all? My draw!” (Earthquake) “I Special Summon Gilasaurus, and due to his ability, you can bring back your Kaibaman. I then activate Earthquake! All monsters are switched to DEF mode! (Blue Eyes x2: 2500 DEF, Kaibaman: 700 DEF) I then activate Ultra Evolution Pill! I sacrifice my Gilasaurus to make it so that I don’t have to tribute monsters to summon my powerful Dinos! Now, Black Tyranno front and center! (2600 ATK) Oh, and by the way, if you thought that your monsters would switch next turn, they won’t because I activate Amber Web! All monsters on your side of the field can’t switch battle positions! Now, Black Tyranno, use your ability to attack her directly!”
Sophia – 4400 Tyranno – 8000
Sophia drew her next card. (Blue Eyes White Dragon) “I sacrifice Kaibaman to summon Blue Eyes White Dragon! (3000 ATK) I then sacrifice my other two Dragons to summon Tyrant Dragon! (2900 ATK) He’s unaffected by your Traps and when he destroys a monster, he can attack again! Tyrant Dragon, attack Black Tyranno with Tyrant Flame!”
Sophia – 4400 Tyranno – 7700
“Blue Eyes White Dragon and Tyrant Dragon, attack him directly!”
Sophia – 4400 Tyranno – 1800
Tyranno growled and drew his next card. (Pot of Greed) “I activate Pot of Greed! This let’s me draw two cards. (Super Conductor Tyranno and Ultimate Offering) I then activate Ultimate Offering! This let’s me summon extra monsters at the cost of 500 LP. I then summon Black Ptera in DEF mode! (500 DEF) I then pay 500 LP to summon Super Conductor Tyranno! (3300 ATK) Tyranno, attack Tyrant Dragon! High Voltage Stomp!”
Sophia – 4000 Tyranno – 1300
Tyranno smirked as he continued. “I then sacrifice my Black Ptera to sneak behind your defenses and deal 1000 damage to your LP! And thanks to its ability, Black Ptera returns to my hand!”
Sophia – 3000 Tyranno – 1300
Sophia drew his next card. (Masked Dragon) “I summon Masked Dragon in DEF mode! (1000 DEF) I then set one card facedown (Negate Attack) and end my turn)
Tyranno drew his next card. (Graceful Charity) “I activate Graceful Charity to draw three cards (Ultimate Tyranno, Sabersaurus, and Survival Instinct) and discard two. (Ultimate Tyranno and Sabersaurus) I then summon Black Ptera! Now Super Conductor Tyranno, attack Blue Eyes White Dragon! After that, I sacrifice Black Ptera to deal 1000 damage to you. Then my Ptera comes back into my hand.”
Sophia – 1700 Tyranno – 1300
Sophia drew her next card. (Hyper Dragon Fusion) “I end my turn.”
Tyranno drew his next card. (Tail Swipe) “I activate Tail Swipe! With this, I can return your Masked Dragon to your hand! I also set one card facedown. (Survival Instinct) Now Super Conductor Tyranno, attack Sophia directly and end this duel!”
“Hold on! I activate Negate Attack! Your attack is stopped and your turn ends!”
Sophia drew her next card. (De-Fusion) “Thanks for Tail Swipe. I now discard my Masked Dragon to activate Hyper Dragon Fusion! I remove my three Blue Eyes from play to summon Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon! (4500 ATK) And thanks to Hyper Dragon Fusion, its attack is increased by the ATK of the monster I discarded! (5900 ATK) of course the downside is that I take damage to my LP equal to Masked Dragon’s ATK but oh well. BLUE EYES ULTIMATE DRAGON, ATTACK SUPER CONDUCTOR TYRANNO WITH NEUTRON BLAST!”
“I activate this card: Survival Instinct! I remove all the Dinos in my graveyard from play to increase my LP by 2000 points before your attack hits!”
Sophia – 300 Tyranno – 700
Tyranno drew his next card. (Tyranno Infinity) I summon Tyranno Infinity in DEF mode! (0) Of course, its stats are equal to the number of Dinos removed from play. (4000/4000) Your turn.”
And I better make it count, Sophia thought grimly as she drew what may be her final card. (Pot of Greed) “I activate Pot of Greed! This lets me draw two more cards! (Life Absorbing Machine and Reckless Greed) I then activate Reckless Greed so I can draw two more cards as long as I skip my next draw phase. (Ultimate offering and Reckless Greed) I then activate Ultimate Offering and Life Absorbing Machine. I then activate another Reckless Greed again. (???? And Luster Dragon) I then summon Luster Dragon and then, by paying 250 LP thanks to my Lifer Absorbing Machine, I can sacrifice my two monsters to summon LIGHT AND DARK DRAGON! (2800 ATK) And thanks to its ability, all your monsters your effects! (Tyranno Infinity: 0/0) I then destroy all other cards on my side of the field to bring back Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon! (4500 ATK) And by the way, Hyper Dragon Fusion gives my Ultimate Dragon an ability: when it’s Special Summoned: When it destroys a monster in DEF mode, it still deals damage to you! BLUE EYES ULTIMATE DRAGON, USE NEUTRON BLAST TO END THIS DUEL!”
Sophia – 50 Tyranno – 0
Sophia walked over to the crumpled form of Tyranno and started dragging him to Greg and Violet. When they arrived, she dragged him upright and thrust him forward. “Go on, apologize!” Sophia demanded.
“Sorry…” Tyranno muttered.
“Likewise…” Greg muttered after Violet elbowed him in the ribs.
Violet turned to Tyranno. “Since you’re my apprentice I get to punish you. So…” Violet smiled and looked at her boyfriend. “You get to duel Greg”
“W-What?!” Tyranno sputtered. “I think its time for this sergeant to retreat!” As he turned and tried to run, Sophia grabbed his collar and made him stay put.
Greg smirked and activated his duel disk. “I’m going to enjoy this…”
Tyranno’s scream could be heard all over the island. “HHHHEEEEELLLLLPPPPPP!”
