Episode 45: “Chazz it Down!”
Sophia was walking through camp looking for her duel apprentice. Rose has said it was a Slifer but she hadn’t seen anyone with a red blazer.
When I find the kid I’ll kill him! Sophia thought angrily.
Suddenly, someone knocked her down to the ground. Sophia shook her head to clear it to see that she was sitting in someone’s shadow. That “someone” was a boy in a black trench coat who had black eyes and black spiky hair.
Obviously Goth, Sophia thought.
“Sorry” the boy said. He sounded stricken. Then his face lightened. “How about you and me—”
SMACK!!!!
A second later, Sophia was stomping off and the spiky-haired kid was lying on the ground rubbing his cheek and growling.
“The Chazz will get what he wants” he muttered darkly

Sophia was in her tent modifying her deck when Greg came in. “Sophia, Rose wants to see you. Something about your apprentice.”
“Awesome!” Sophia cheered. She grabbed her duel disk and slammed her deck in. “I’m ready, so let’s go!”
The two cousins went to the same clearing where Greg had dueled Johan. When they arrived, Rose wasn’t there. Instead, it was just the kid who had knocked Sophia down earlier.
“Hello pretty thing!” he said.
Greg growled and bunched his hands into fists. “Calm down kid.”
Sophia snarled and activated her duel disk. “Who are you?”
“Chazz Princeton, number 1 duelist in Slifer Red” Chazz said as he activated his duel disk and put his deck in. “And you have to duel me!”
“Hey, you’re my duel apprentice” Sophia scolded. “You have to listen to me!”
“Forget it!” Chazz sneered.
“Alright, how about this: we duel. If I win, you start treating me better.”
“And if you lose, you go out with me!”
“SAY WHAT?!?!?!” Greg and Sophia cried.
“THERE’S NO WAY ON THIS EARTH THAT YOU'LL BE GOING OUT WITH MY COUSIN!” Greg roared while Sophia said at the same time “I accept!”
Sophia – 8000 Chazz – 8000
The two duelists drew five cards. Sophia had drawn the miracle hand: 3 Blue Eyes White Dragons, Polymerization, and Negate Attack! Chazz’s hand, compared to Sophia’s, was less than spectacular: Adhesive Explosive, Y Dragon Head, Branch, X Head Cannon, and Frontline Base.
“Age before beauty!” Chazz yelled. “I set one monster facedown (Adhesive Explosive) along with one facedown (Branch) and end my turn!”
“Not much confidence, eh?” Sophia remarked as she drew her next card. (Dragon’s Gunfire) “First I activate Dragon’s Gunfire, which deals 800 damage to your Life Points! Then I activate Polymerization! I fuse my three Blue Eyes White Dragons together to summon Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon! (4500 ATK) Now attack his facedown!”
“Thank you for destroying my Adhesive Explosive!” Chazz cackled. “As its name implies, it sticks to your Ultimate Dragon and at the end of your turn, it destroys it!”
“NO!” Sophia cried as her favorite monster was destroyed.
Sophia – 8000 Chazz – 7200
Chazz drew his next card. (Pot of Greed) “I activate Pot of Greed to draw two more cards. (V Tiger Jet and W Wing Catapult) I then activate Frontline Base, allowing me to Special Summon 1 Union monster during my Main Phase and I choose my Y Dragon Head! (1500 ATK) I now summon X Head Cannon in ATK mode! I then activate Branch, which allows me to Special Summon 1 Fusion Material Monster whenever one of my Fusion Monsters is destroyed. I then sacrifice my two monsters to summon XY Dragon Cannon! (2100 ATK) Now my monster, attack Sophia directly!”
Sophia – 5900 Chazz – 7200
Sophia drew her next card. (Monster Reborn) “I activate Monster Reborn so come back Blue Eyes White Dragon! (3000 ATK) Now attack XY Dragon Cannon with White Lightning Attack!”
Sophia – 5900 Chazz – 6300
Chazz drew his next card. (Graceful Charity) “I activate Graceful Charity! This lets me draw three cards (Flip Flop, Level Up, and Ojamagic) and discard two (Ojamagic and Level Up). And since Ojamagic went to the Graveyard, I can add the Ojama Brothers to my hand! I then activate Flip Flop, which switched your Dragon to facedown defense mode. Oh, and I almost forgot my Branch, which brings back Y Dragon Head! And now I use the power of Frontline Base to bring out Z Metal Tank. I then sacrifice my Monsters to summon YZ Tank Dragon! (2100 ATK) I then discard one card from my hand (Ojama Yellow) to destroy your facedown card. YZ Tank Dragon, attack her directly!”
Sophia – 3800 Chazz – 6300
Sophia drew her next card. (Negate Attack) “I set my draw card facedown and end my turn.”
“Now who’s the unconfident one?” Chazz sneered. He then drew his next card. (Mass Revival) “I sacrifice my monster and discard two cards from my hand (Ojama Black and Ojama Green) to activate Mass Revival! This card allows me to Special Summon up to three monsters from my graveyard. But I need only two, so I summon X Head Cannon and Z Metal Tank! And thanks to Brach, Y Dragon Head comes to the field. And since I haven’t Normal Summoned a monster yet, I summon V Tiger Jet and it is now joined by W Wing Catapult thanks to my Frontline Base!”
What’s Chazz planning? Greg wondered.
“I then sacrifice my 5 monsters to summon these two monsters: XYZ Dragon Cannon and VW Tiger Catapult. And by sacrificing these two monsters, I can play this: VWXYZ DRAGON CATAPULT CANNON! (3000 ATK)”
Sophia gasped as the huge machine towered over her. Holy cow, I didn’t expect THAT one!
“And don’t forget Branch, because now I can bring back X Head Cannon! Now my monsters attack her directly and finish her off!”
“Hold on Chazz!” Sophia called. “I activate my facedown: Negate Attack! This stops your attacks and ends your turn!”
I managed to get out of that one, but can I keep it up? Sophia wondered as she drew her card. (Graceful Charity) “I activate Graceful Charity! This lets me draw three cards (Luster Dragon, Lord of D, and Pot of Avarice) and discard two (Luster Dragon and Lord of D). And since I have 5 monsters in my graveyard, I can activate Pot of Avarice! By returning my 3 Blue Eyes, my Luster Dragon, and my Lord of D to my deck, I can shuffle my deck and draw 2 cards (Mirror Force and Heavy Storm). I then set 3 cards facedown (Mirror Force, Negate Attack, and Heavy Storm) and end my turn.”
Chazz drew his next card. (Armed Dragon LV3) “Now let’s try this again. NOW MY MONSTERS, ATTACK SOPHIA DIRECTLY!”
“I activate Mirror Force! All your monsters are destroyed!”
“And thanks to Branch I get back XYZ Dragon Cannon!”
“Uhh…no you don’t because I now activate my other facedown: Heavy Storm! Since Branch’s ability is the first link on the chain, Heavy Storm resolves first and destroys Branch along with all other Spell and Trap cards! And since Branch isn’t there after Heavy Storm resolves, you have no monsters!”
“WAY TO GO SOPHIA!!!” Greg called out.
Sophia smiled and drew her card. (Luster Dragon) “I summon Luster Dragon to the field. (1900 ATK) Now my dragon, attack Chazz directly!”
Sophia – 3800 Chazz – 4400
Chazz growled and drew his next card. (Level Up) “I summon Armed Dragon LV3 to the field. I then activate Level Up! By sacrificing my little Dragon, I get to summon this: Armed Dragon LV5! (2400 ATK) Now my monster, attack Luster Dragon! Serrated Disk Attack!”
Sophia – 3300 Chazz – 4400
Suddenly, Chazz’s Dragon began to change. “What the heck is going on?” Sophia demanded.
Chazz laughed. “Its my Armed Dragon’s ability: whenever it destroys a monster in battle, I get to sacrifice it to summon this card!” Suddenly a bigger dragon took LV5’s place and roared. “Introducing Armed Dragon LV7! (2700 ATK)”
Sophia took a step back. Man, look at all that armor…the only thing that can beat it is my Blue Eyes…
Sophia then drew her next card. (Dragonstorm) “I pay 1000 LP to activate Dragonstorm! This allows me to summon a Dragon monster to the field from my deck, so I summon Tyrant Dragon! (2900 ATK) My dragon is unaffected by Trap Cards and when it destroys a monster, it can attack again! Tyrant Dragon, attack Armed Dragon LV7 with Tyrant Flame!”
Sophia – 2300 Chazz – 4200
“Tyrant Dragon, attack Chazz directly!”
Sophia – 2300 Chazz – 1300
“GO SOPHIA!” Greg cheered from the sidelines.
Chazz growled and drew his next card. (Reckless Greed) “I activate Reckless Greed! At the cost of my next Draw Phase, I can draw two more cards from my deck (Monster Reborn and Armed Dragon LV10) I then activate Monster Reborn to bring back Armed Dragon LV7. But it won’t be around for long because I then sacrifice it to summon my ultimate monster: ARMED DRAGON LV10! (3000 ATK) ATTACK TYRANT DRAGON NOW!”
Sophia – 2200 Chazz – 1300
This is bad, Greg thought worriedly. If Sophia doesn’t draw the right card, she’s over!
Heart of the cards, don’t fail me now! Sophia pleaded. She squeezed her eyes shut and drew her card. When she opened them, she smiled. “This duel is over!”
“What?!” Chazz exclaimed. “How?! You can’t defeat my Dragon!”
“Yes I can! I activate Dragonstorm! As you know, I have to pay 1000 LP to summon a Dragon from my deck, but my card has a second ability as well: I can pay 1000 LP for every Dragonstorm in my graveyard to summon a Dragon for every Dragonstorm in my graveyard! I now pay 2000 LP to summon White Horned Dragon (2200 ATK) and Raging White Dragon (1500 ATK)!”
Chazz started to laugh. “You think a part unicorn and a baby Blue Eyes can beat me? Face it, you’re mine!”
“Forget it lover-boy, because my two Dragons have special abilities! White Horned Dragon can remove up to 5 Spell Cards in your graveyard to increase my Dragon’s attack by 300 points for every Spell removed by its effect! (3700 ATK)”
Chazz face faulted just for a second.
Sophia smiled and continued. “As for Raging White Dragon, its ability allows me to summon up to 3 Blue Eyes White Dragons from my deck and increase its attack points by 1000 for every Blue Eyes on my side of the field! (4500 ATK)”
“WHAT?!?!” Chazz cried as he stared down 5 Dragons with 3000 or more ATK points.
“Its over Chazz. NOW MY DRAGONS, ATTACK!”
First came the White Horned Dragon, who speared the Armed Dragon through the stomach.
Sophia – 200 Chazz – 600
Then the remaining white dragons put their heads together and unleashed white lightning that blasted Chazz off his feet and into a tree.
Sophia – 200 Chazz – 0
Sophia walked up slowly to Chazz, who was stuck to the tree. She socked him on the head, which caused him to fall to the ground, unconscious. “That’s for being and idiot” Sophia said. Then she turned to her cousin and the two of them walked away.
