Yu-Gi-Oh! Battle of the Heavens Episode 31: “The Flip Side”
Greg watched Sophia and Exxod getting ready to duel. He had been denied a challenge and his cousin got the duel. Exxod was giving Sophia the run down on a new dueling system. “We will use the Pharaoh Duel System. We each choose one monster who will not fight who will spread his abilities to al the monsters that player controls. The Pharaoh can only fight if there are no monsters in play on your side of the field. My Pharaoh shall be EXXOD, MASTER OF THE GUARD! I SHALL BE MY PHARAOH!” Sophia shuffled through her cards, thinking. Which card would the best Pharaoh? she wondered. Her mind clicked. She selected a card and held it aloft. “I have chosen my Pharaoh: ULTIMATE DRAGON RIDER!” Exxod smiled. “Are you ready?” Sophia snapped her deck in and activated her duel disk. “Ready to win, actually” “Well then, it’s time to duel!”

Each duelist drew five cards. Sophia had a decent hand: Blue Eyes White Dragon, Red Eyes Black Dragon, Flute of Summoning Dragon, Lord of D., and Dragon’s Rage. Exxod’s hand was perfect: Golem Sentry, Great Spirit, Giant Rat, Moai Interceptor Cannons, and Mystical Space Typhoon. Exxod went first. “I set one monster face-down. I then summon my Giant Rat in DEF mode (1400/1450). I then set one card face down.” Sophia drew her card (Dragon’s Mirror). “I play Lord of Dragon in DEF mode. I then play Flute of Summoning Dragon, which allows me to Special Summon two Dragons. I choose my Blue Eyes White Dragon and my Red Eyes Black Dragon. My Blue Eyes attacks your Giant Rat and my Red Eyes attacks your face-down creature.” “I flip my creature to reveal Golem Sentry! I deal 2000 damage to your LP and Red Eyes Black Dragon returns to your hand. And thanks to Giant Rat, I can search for another one and bring it into play in DEF mode.”
Exxod – 6450 Sophia – 6000
Exxod drew his next card (Great Spirit) “I set one monster face-down. I flip it to reveal my Great Spirit. I deal 3000 damage to your LP and I flip my Golem Sentry face down.”
Exxod – 6450 Sophia – 3000
Sophia was starting to sweat. She had only one monster. Either way, she would lose in one more flip. But she looked at her draw card: Royal Command! “I play Royal Command! This prevents you from Flip Summoning your creatures.” Exxod’s face was unreadable as he drew his next card (Canyon) “I play Canyon. Whenever an Earth monster deals damage to a player’s LP, that damage is doubled.” Sophia drew her next card (Harpie’s Feather Duster) “I play my Harpie’s Feather Duster! All your Spells and Traps are destroyed! NOW BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON, ATTACK HIS GIANT RAT WITH WHITE LIGHTNING ATTACK!” “Thank you Sophia. For now I may search my library for another Giant Rat and put it into play!” Exxod grinned.
Exxod – 4900 Sophia – 3000
The large Exodia incarnate drew his next card (Magic Cylinder). “I set one card face-down” Sophia drew her next card (Pot of Greed). “I play Pot of Greed, which allows me to draw two more cards (Blue Eyes x2). I then play Dragon’s Mirror! I remove my three Blue Eyes White Dragons from the game to summon BLUE EYES ULTIMATE DRAGON! (4500 ATK). NOW MY DRAGON, ATTACK HIS GIANT RAT WITH NEUTRON BLAST!” Sophia smiled as Exxod’s LP whittled away to almost nothing. “I guess you shouldn’t but Giant Rats in ATK mode, huh?” Exxod just snarled as he searched for another Golem Sentry and put it facedown.
Exxod – 1400 Sophia – 3000
Exxod drew his next card (Shield & Sword). He groaned, which is unexpected from a rock giant. He needed a Spell/Trap removal fast! But then he remembered something: Atem told him, when Exxod was installed as Captain of the Guard, that only one person could defeat him in a duel and that person was the incarnation of Atem. The great giant bowed his head in defeat. “I concede. Sophia, your skills pass my own. I presume these three cards are yours” He held out his hand and in it laid the three Egyptian God Cards: Obelisk the Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon, and the Winged Dragon of Ra. Sophia picked up the cards and inserted them into her deck and bowed to the creature. “Thank you Exxod, Captain of the Guard”

As the cousins were about to enter the tomb, an Egyptian runner came up to them, panting and speaking in rapid Egyptian. “Slow down” Sophia soothed. “Breathe deep and repeat what you said.” This time, Sophia managed to translate the message and she paled. She turned to Greg. “Joe has stolen a deck and is rampaging through the city” Greg’s heart leaped into his throat. “I…must go back” he said with great difficulty. “I’m the only one who can either make him see sense or take him down” Sophia nodded and she gave Greg a swift hug. “Be careful, okay?” Greg flashed a smile “Aren’t I always?” “Um…no!” “Huh, I never knew that” Greg turned to the messenger and asked him in Egyptian “Lead the way” The messenger nodded and ran off, with Greg not to far behind. Its time to end this. I can’t let my visions come true. But can I stop them?
