Episode 24: “Battle of the World, Part 1”
It is time to set things right.
That is what Greg thought as he drew five cards along with Dartz, his father. They were dueling for the third time. This time, Greg wasn’t cocky: he knew that it would take all of his skill to defeat his father.
Greg looked at his hand: Avian, UFOroid, Polymerization, Miracle Fusion, and Hero Barrier. Decent hand, as opening hands go.
Dartz, on the other hand, hand a hand to brag about: Zure, Infernalqueen Archfiend, Pandemonium, Dark World Lightning, and Negate Attack. Choices, choices, Dartz thought. I go first and I have many opportunities to exploit.
Dartz drew his card (Mirror Force). “I summon Infernalqueen Archfiend in DEF mode (900/1500). I then play Pandemonium. Finally, I put 3 cards (Lightning, Negate Attack, and Mirror Force) face down.”
Greg drew his next card (Burstinatrix). He had a feeling that Dartz had just put down a Mirror Force, but there was a chance that it was a Ring of Destruction. “I play Polymerization! I fuse Avian and Burstinatrix together to summon E-HERO FLAME WINGMAN (2100/1600)! I then place one card (Hero Barrier) face down.”
Dartz drew his next card (Terrorking Archfiend). “During my Stand-by Phase, I increase Infernalqueen’s ATK by 1000 (1900/1500) and I switch it to ATK mode. I then summon Zure, Knight of Dark World! (1800/1500)”
Greg drew his next card (Polymerization) “I play a second Polymerization! I fuse UFOroid and Flame Wingman together to form UFOROID FIGHTER! (3300/2800) ATTACK ZURE WITH PLASMA STRIKE!”
Greg – 8000 Dartz – 6500
Dartz drew his next card (Chthonian Blast) “I set one card face down (Chthonian Blast). I increase Infernalqueen’s ATK by 1000. I then activate Ring of Destruction. Infernalqueen is destroyed and we both take 1450 LP damage.”
Greg – 6550 Dartz – 5050
Greg drew his next card (Clayman). “I summon E-Hero Clayman in DEF mode (800/2000). I then activate Miracle Fusion! I remove Burstinatrix and Clayman from play to summon E-Hero Rampart Blaster (2000/2500 in DEF mode). I then inflict 1000 damage to your LP.”
Greg – 6550 Dartz – 4050
Dartz drew his next card (Zure) “I summon Zure. I then activate Chthonian Blast. Rampart Blaster is destroyed and we both take 1000 damage.”
Greg – 5550 Dartz – 3050
Greg drew his next card (Sanctuary in the Sky) “I play Sanctuary in the Sky. That means that I take no damage when you destroy a Fairy-type monster. UFOroid Fighter attacks Zure.”
“Activate Mirror Force! All your monsters are destroyed!”
Dartz drew his next card (Graceful Charity) “I play Graceful Charity. I draw two cards (Sillva, Warlord of Dark World 2x) and I discard three cards (Sillva 2x and Terrorking Archfiend). And when it is sent to the graveyard, I can Special Summon Sillva to my side of the field! (2300 ATK) Zure attacks you directly.”
Greg – 3750 Dartz – 3050
Greg drew his next card (Sparkman) “I discard my draw card to draw another card (Miracle Fusion). I then play Miracle Fusion! I remove Sparkman and Flame Wingman from play to summon E-HERO SHINING FLARE WINGMAN! (2500/2100) And sense I have 2 E-Heroes in my Graveyard, Shining Flare Wingman gets an extra 600 ATK points. (3100/2100) SHINING FLARE WINGMAN, ATTACK SILLVA WITH THUNDERFORCE STRIKE!”
“Activate Negate Attack! Your attack is negated!”
Dartz drew his next card (Infernalqueen Archfiend) “I summon Infernalqueen Archfiend in DEF mode.”
Greg drew his next card (Warrior of Zera) “I summon Warrior of Zera in ATK mode. (1600 ATK)”
Dartz drew his next card (Sinister Serpent) “I summon Sinister Serpent in DEF mode.”
Greg drew his next card. (Archlord Zerato) “I sacrifice Warrior of Zera to summon Archlord Zerato in ATK mode! (2800 ATK)”
Suddenly, Greg raised his gauntlet into the air and formed a fist so the Fang of Critias showed. Greg suddenly shouted “Oporaviti se mene Naranča Zmaj!”
In his mind, Hermos answered “I come”
Suddenly, a nimbus of orange light surrounded Greg. His gauntlet flowed with orange light. His duel disk had orange electricity dancing and crackling down its length. Suddenly, everything stopped. Standing beside Greg was a majestic orange dragon.
Hermos had arrived.
