Episode 15: “Ultimate Challenge, Part 2”
Greg got to his feet panting. He was the only one left standing dueling Dartz. His left wrist, which was bleeding profusely, was throbbing in pain. He had no monsters to defend him. He was on his own.
Greg drew his next card. (E-Hero Avian) “I summon E-Hero Avian in ATK mode. (1000/1000)” Greg now realized that he could stop one attack with his face-down Hero Barrier, but he could still lose if Dartz attacked with both of them.
Dartz drew his next card. (Terrorking Archfiend) “I summon Terrorking Archfiend by sacrificing Infernalqueen Archfiend. (2000/1500) Gate Guardian attacks Avian.”
“Activate Hero Barrier! Your monster’s attack is negated!”
Greg drew his next card. (Polymerization) “I play Polymerization! I fuse Avian and UFOroid together to create UFOroid Fighter! (2200/2200)” Now, Greg thought, I only need United We Stand and Scapegoat and I can get to work.
Dartz drew his next card. (Ring of Destruction) “I activate Chthonian Blast! UFOroid Fighter is destroyed and we both take 1100 damage!”
“AHHHHHHHHHH!” Greg screamed as pain seared through his left wrist. The pain was so intense it drove him to his knees.
Greg – 950 Dartz – 1800
Greg drew his next card from the floor. (E-Hero Sparkman) The pain hadn’t subsided and he was too weak to get up. “I discard E-Hero Sparkman to draw a new card.” It turned out to be Miracle Fusion! I think I’ll need every miracle I can get to win this duel, Greg thought. “I play Miracle Fusion! I remove Sparkman and Flame Wingman from play to summon E-HERO SHINING FLARE WINGMAN! And since I have 3 E-Heroes in my graveyard, my monster gets stats of 3400/2100! SHINING FLARE WINGMAN, ATTACK DARTZ’S TERRORKING ARCHFIEND WITH THUNDERFORCE STRIKE!”
Greg – 950 Dartz – 1400
Dartz drew his next card. (Forces of Darkness) “I play Forces of Darkness! This trap card allows me to return TWO Dark World monsters from my graveyard to my hand! (Sillva and Goldd) Infernalqueen’s ATK is increased by 1000 due to its effect. (5900 ATK)”
Greg drew his next card. (Draining Shield) “I set one card face down.”
“Greg, do you know why your wrist is splitting?” Dartz called out.
“No”
“Well, it is because of one simple fact”
“What?”
“You are my son!”
“THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE” Greg cried.
“I’ll prove it to you!” Dartz said. He took off his duel disk to reveal a scar on his left wrist. “Behold! The scar of the Seal of Orikalcos! Look at your left wrist! Only my offspring would have this mark!”
Greg took off his duel disk. He stared at his left wrist in shock and horror. On the wrist was an open, bleeding shape of the Seal! “It can’t be...” Greg whispered as he put his duel disk back on.
“It be” responded Dartz as he drew his next card. (Dark World Lighting) “I play Dark World Lightning! I destroy your face-down card and I discard and then I Special Summon Sillva! (2300 ATK) Gate Guardian attacks Shining Flare Wingman!”
Greg – 600 Dartz – 1400
Greg drew is next card: Return from a Different Dimension! “I set one card face-down.”
Dartz drew his card. (Negate Attack) “I set one card face down”
Greg then drew his next card. (Miracle Fusion) “I activate Return from a Different Dimension! I pay 300 LP to bring back these cards: E-Hero Flame Wingman, E-Hero Avian, E-Hero Burstinatrix, and E-Hero Sparkman! I then play Miracle Fusion! I remove Burstinatrix and Clayman from play to summon E-Hero Rampart Blaster! (2000/2500) Even though it is in DEF mode, it can deal 1000 direct damage to your LP due to its effect!”
Greg – 300 Dartz – 400
Dartz drew his next card. (Mirror Force) “I set one card face-down. I attack your Rampart Blaster with my Gate Guardian.”
Greg drew his next card. (Mage Power) “I set one card face-down (Shadow Spell) I play Mage Power! I equip it to my Flame Wingman, which gives it an extra 1000 ATK! (3100 ATK) FLAME WINGMAN! ATTACK SILLVA WITH BURNING POWER DIVE!”
“Activate Mirror Force! Flame Wingman, Avian, and Sparkman are destroyed!”
Well, this match is close. But Greg has nothing to defend him! How can he win?
