Episode 11: “Champion, Part 2”
Seto Kaiba drew his next card (Different Dimension Dragon). He and Zane were in a duel against Sophia and Greg to determine who the best duelist at Duel Academy was. When Kaiba looked at the draw card, his face lit up with a plan. “I summon Different Dimension Dragon.” All I need now is Polymerization, he thought.
Greg looked at his draw card (Dimension Fusion) He could activate it now, or wait for later. He chose to activate it later. “I set my draw card face down.”
Zane then looked at his next card. It was his Metoerain. “I put one card face down.”
Sophia drew her card. It was Divine Dragon! She just needed one more card and then she could probably win. “I summon Divine Dragon in ATK mode. One of my Blue Eyes White dragons attacks Cyber Dragon”
Sophia: 2700 Greg: 3700 Kaiba: 6200 Zane: 1900
But Sophia wasn’t over yet! “BLUE EYES WHITE DRAGON, ATTACK ZANE’S LP DIRECTLY WITH WHITE LIGHTNING ATTACK!”
Sophia: 2700 Greg: 3700 Kaiba: 6200 Zane: 0
Kaiba grinned. Zane had been eliminated first. Just as planned. He then looked at his draw card (Polymerization) and began to formulate a plan. “I activate one of my face down cards: Enemy Controller! I sacrifice my Different Dimension Dragon to take control of one of Sophia’s Blue Eyes White Dragons. I then use Polymerization to fuse my three dragons together to Fusion Summon BLUE EYS ULTIMATE DRAGON! NOW MY DRAGON, ATTACK SOPHIA’S BLUE EYES WITH NEUTRON BLAST!”
Sophia: 1200 Greg: 3700 Kaiba: 6200
Greg drew his next card. If it wasn’t his Sparkman, then he was in real trouble…and it turned out that Sparkman was the card he drew! “I play Elemental hero Sparkman! I then play Polymerization! I fuse my Flame Wingman and Sparkman together to create ELEMENTAL HERO SHINING FLARE WINGMAN (2500/2100)! And since I have four E-Heroes in my graveyard, my Monster’s ATK is raised by 1200 points, giving it a grand total of 3700 ATK!”
Sophia drew her next card (Dragon’s Mirror) “I play the card Dragon’s Mirror. I remove Lord of D. and Divine dragon from play to create Lord Dragun!”
“You guys are weak!” Kaiba sneered. “Nothing can overcome my Ultimate Dragon!” Kaiba looked at his draw card (Nitro Unit). “I set my draw card face down. Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon attacks Shining Flare Wingman.”
Sophia: 1200 Greg: 2900 Kaiba: 6200
Greg looked at his draw card (Swords of Revealing Light) “I play one card face down.” Greg now had three face down cards: Swords of Revealing Light, Draining Shield, and Fusion Recovery!
Sophia realized that this might be her last turn and that her draw card (Buster Blader) had to be good. When she looked at it, she groaned. She now knew her time was up. “I play the Field Spell Card Mountain.”
Kaiba didn’t even bother to look at the card he drew (Brain Control). “BLUE EYE ULTIMATE DRAGON, ATTACK LORD DRAGUN WITH NEUTRON BLAST!”
Greg: 2900 Kaiba: 6200
Greg was starting to worry. He needed a good card now, or he lost! He looked at his deck with hesitation. Kaiba must’ve seen it because a second later, his voice rang throughout the arena.
“Give it up Greg! No matter what card you draw, you are going to lose this duel! Admit it Greg, you have finally met your match!”
Have I? Greg asked himself. Have I really lost this duel? Then, Violet and Sophia could be heard:
“Don’t give up Greg!” shouted Violet.
“We’re here for ya!” added Sophia.
“SHUT UP!” yelled Kaiba.
Greg felt anger surge through him. “Nobody, I repeat, NOBODY talks to my girlfriend or my cousin that way. EVER! I will beat you Seto Kaiba! And my next card will begin your defeat!”
“Is he bluffing?” asked Sophia.
“I don’t know” answered Violet. “But I have a feeling we will soon find out!”
Is Greg bluffing? Will he defeat Kaiba? Or will Greg suffer defeat instead?
