Episode 20: “Divided We Fall, Part 1”
Greg walked up the stairs to his room in shock. No more than 20 minutes ago, he had sent a fellow student to the Orichalcos.
I can’t believe I did that, Greg thought. It wasn’t my fault. I tried my best…didn’t I?
Greg entered his room in a daze. He then looked at his scar on his left wrist. The scar was in the shape of the Seal of Orichalcos. This scar proved three things: 1. Greg was of Atlantean descent, 2. Dartz was his father (Greg winced), and 3. He was destined to wield the three Legendary Dragons.
Why didn’t Hermos come to my aid?, Greg thought. Did he want to? Or was it the fact I was inside the Seal?
Greg couldn’t answer that: He was too tired.
Suddenly the door behind him opened and Violet stepped into the room. “Are you all right?” she asked.
“NO I AM NOT ALL RIGHT! I’VE JUST SENT SOMEONE TO THE ORICHALCOS! AND I BET MY BOTTOM DOLLAR THAT DARTZ WAS BEHIND THIS WHOLE ORDEAL! HE MADE ZANE COME UP HERE! HE MADE ZANE JOIN HIM!” But Greg found he couldn’t go on: The sadness was too great.
Violet, sensing something was wrong, sat down on the bed. Greg followed in suit.
“I didn’t mean for this to happen” Greg whispered. “I thought I could make Zane come back”
Violet held him. “It’s okay” she whispered.
“No it isn’t!” Greg started to cry. He couldn’t go on, not after what he did. He needed to vent, so he wept. Violet began to rock him. At last, Greg fell asleep.
Suddenly, Greg awoke. It was midnight and something was wrong: It was too silent.
Greg quickly got dressed and walked towards the entry hall. He sensed energies coming from there. When he got there, he discovered that the energies lead into a elevator shaft. The same elevator shaft that leads to the Underground Mine! Greg thought excitedly as he waited to arrive.
Suddenly, something hit him: Dartz’s hideout was HERE in the Underground Mine!
Greg was a little nervous without his friends by him, but he stepped out into the blackness to confront his father.
Dartz looked at him. “Ready to lose?”
Greg put his duel disk into position. “Ready to win, actually”
“Fine. DUEL!”
Greg – 8000 Dartz – 8000
Suddenly, Greg scar seared with pain. He looked up. The Seal of Orichalcos was coming down. But the runes on it looked different. He looked at his hand: E-Hero Burstinatrix, UFOroid, E-Hero Avian, Miracle Fusion, and Polymerization.
Dartz smiled evilly as he looked at his hand: 2x Chthonian Blast, Sillva, Dark Deal, and Sanga the Thunder.
Greg drew his first card. (Hero Barrier) “I summon E-Hero Avian in ATK mode. (1000/1000) I then place three cards face-down.”
Dartz drew his next card. (Ring of Destruction) “I place three cards face-down. I then play Ring of Destruction. Avian is destroyed and we both take 1000 damage.”
Greg – 7000 Dartz – 7000
Greg drew his next card. (Swords of Revealing Light) “I set one card face-down. I then activate Miracle Fusion! I remove Burstinatrix and Avian from play to summon E-Hero Flame Wingman! Attack with Burning Power Dive!”
“Activate Chthonian Blast! Wingman is destroyed and we both take 1050 damage.”
Greg – 5950 Dartz – 5950
Dartz drew his next card. (Zure) “I summon Zure, Knight of Dark World. (1800 ATK) ZURE, ATTACK GREG’S LP DIRECTLY!”
Greg – 4850 Dartz – 5950
Greg drew his next card. (Monster Reborn) “I activate Monster Reborn! I revive my Flame Wingman. I then activate Polymerization. I fuse UFOroid and Flame Wingman together to summon UFOroid Fighter! (3300/2800) UFOROID FIGHTER, ATTACK ZURE WITH PLASMA STRIKE!”
Greg – 4850 Dartz – 4450
Dartz drew his next card. (Mirror Force) “I set one card face-down. I then activate Chthonian Blast. UFOroid Fighter is destroyed and we both take 1650 damage.”
Greg – 3200 Dartz – 2800
Greg drew his next card. (E-Hero Clayman) “I summon E-Hero Clayman in DEF mode. (800/2000)”
Dartz drew his next card. (Archfiend Soldier) “I summon Archfiend Soldier in ATK mode. (1900/1500)”
Greg drew his next card. (Burstinatrix) “I discard Burstinatrix to draw another card.” That card was Miracle Fusion! “I then play Miracle Fusion! I remove Clayman and Burstinatrix from play to summon E-HERO RAMPART BLASTER! RAMPART BLASTER; SHOW HIS ARCHFIEND SOLDIER YOU SHOCK ROCKET ATTACK!”
Greg – 3200 Dartz – 2700
Dartz drew his next card. (Kazegin) “I discard my Sillva to draw a new card and when Sillva is sent to the graveyard from my hand, I can Special Summon it to my side of the field. (2300 ATK)” Dartz looked at the new card he drew. (Sujin) “I send Sujin, Kazegin, and Sanga the Thunder to my graveyard to Special Summon GATE GUARDIAN! (3750 ATK) My Gate Guardian attacks your Rampart Blaster!”
Greg – 1250 Dartz – 2700
Can Greg beat Dartz again? Will Hermos show up? Will time be unraveled? Will cows start flying around the room? Who knows? See you later!
