I woke up at six in the morn,
On the day when Hope was reborn,
I leapt out of bed and began to play,
Until the rest of my family was ready to start the day.
When everyone was washed and dressed,
My sister and I began out quest,
To find all the multi-colored gifts,
That the Easter Bunny left behind,
I only had my eyes and my mind,
As I looked up, down, left, and right,
Stopping only to give my sister a few lifts,
Soon we were done and not an egg was in sight.
Red, green, purple, blue,
The eggs came in every hue,
The treats came forth like the cloud’s rain,
From caramel eggs to chocolate made with sugar cane,
After we laughed, played, and ate our fill,
All was quiet and still.
